What to know now.
Can I download Alder now?
No. Alder is in a waitlist phase. There is no public installer. You can join the waitlist for access news.
Will Alder be free?
Alder is a paid service with a useful free tier and paid tiers. Prices and exact paid allowances are not public yet. See the planned tiers and launch offer on the plans page.
Is Alder 1.0 released?
The 1.0 film introduces the product direction. It does not mean a 1.0 build is publicly available. We will identify any available build by its actual version when access opens.
Does it replace Roblox Studio?
No. Alder is designed as a desktop workspace around a real Roblox Studio session. Studio remains where your place lives and runs.
What computer and setup will I need?
The current product is Windows first. The preview design uses Roblox Studio signed in with a place open and Studio MCP enabled. Supported model access is also needed. Requirements may change before public access.
Does Alder make an entire game automatically?
No. It is designed for scoped creation tasks and reviewable changes. It cannot replace a creator's taste, testing or decision making, and it does not automatically publish an experience.
Has the full workflow been proven?
Not across the complete first-run-to-tested-feature journey with multiple creators. Parts of native Studio hosting, read-only state and Output have been locally checked. Other actions still need broader live validation.
Can a change always be restored?
No. Restore depends on named Alder history in the current session and matching Studio undo history. Manual edits, another place, missing history or app restart can prevent it.
How reliable is a playtest report?
Alder can record supported Studio actions, Output and your own observation. Older Output lines can appear, and a clean log does not prove the requested behavior.
What happens to project data?
Local plans and task history stay in Alder's data directory. Information needed for a model request goes to the selected provider under its terms. The initial bounded project map does not read script source or screenshots. Read privacy notes.
